The Gambia Press Union (GPU), with support from partners, namely United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF), the European Union (EU), and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), hosted a series of activities to mark the World Press Freedom Day 2017 in The Gambia.
On Wednesday morning of May 3rd, journalists and press freedom advocates, embarked on a peaceful procession. The march past started at Traffic Lights Junction. Participants walked through the streets of Kairaba Avenue, the country’s business hub, to the offices of the Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure (MoICI).
